Still more

I have had to do this is small segments as the pictures take longer and longer to upload.

We will continue on with the main bathroom.

We replaced the bathtub and surround with tile and had a glass shower installed.

New mirrors and a pedestal to complete the update.

There were no photos taken of the downstairs as we were living there and then forgot to take photos.  Aside from the den area and the entryway, not much was changed.  We installed a new tiled shower in the lower bath and installed a pedestal sink.  The floors downstairs were replaced with tile and laminate.

These are the changes and improvements we did make.

This was a small dining area.  We have installed mega fluorescents and a new built in bookcase.  This is designated as my sewing area and I have my tables set up here and my sewing machine.

This is a view of the former living room.  I still have the gas fireplace and more built in shelves were made here and a built in spot for my TV.

This is my specially built shelving unit that has sliding baskets which hold my fabrics, yarns and works in progress.  There is space on the wall for my quilt cabinet which is still in Lethbridge.

The former kitchen area has reverted to a laundry room again and we have added a laundry sink and upgraded the work surface so that we have a large peninsula on one end.

We have more pictures but you can get an idea of the scope of the project.  If any one is interested we can post the details of the changed in the utility room, i.e. furnace, water heater, vacuums.  Ha! Ha!

And then....

The old fireplace

The old deck and sliding windows.

The new deck with roof and glass railings.  The size of the patio doors is 12 feet and spans most of the front of the living room.

The old fireplace was replaced by a gas burning fire place and is now faced with travertine and a douglas fir mantel.  The floors throught the house have been replaced with laminate.

The size of the room did not change, nor did any of the walls, but we replaced the half wall that was behind the sectional with an open railing.

Shall we continue the tour

The kitchen before

This is a view of the corner that we removed from the existing kitchen to open up the area.

This is my favorite window that was added which you can view a little patch of water and it lets in light on the stairway.

We continue on into the dining area.

As it was before

New view of the dining room

These windows were added onto the south side of the house to give us more light and open up the view to the south.

Moving along

A view down the hallway and views of the three bedrooms that were original in the house.

My favorite decorating feature before, which alas is no more.

The new view down the hall with new recessed lighting.

The new master bedroom with our lovely view to the east.

The ensuite which was built into what was the second bedroom.

The new glass shower.

The third and smallest bedroom that we extended by a few feet and put in the new windows.

Enter at your own risk

 The entry before
The entry after

The opposite side of the entryway which now enters also into a den.  This used to be a garage way back and then was part of the basement suite as our bedroom while we were renovating.

The original closet was here, as well as a door that went into the laundry area and the basement suite.

Looking toward the front door from the rear of the entry.  This has become a very roomy space and has really opened up the lower level.

Merry Christmas from the Bane family

Welcome to our house.
A few changes have been made.

Another view

Closing with something seasonal.
